Day 1: To Sault Ste. Marie

Very very early start.  Up at 4:15am and although we planned on getting on the road by 5am it didn't happen.  So by 6 we were on our way.  Ran into a little traffic through Oakville Mississauga but by time we hit the 427 it was clear sailing.

Stopped at a little town called Cold Water for gas.  Chris & Emma, thank you for the gas cards, as they came in handy at our first fuel stop (here).  And look, no more expensive then Ancaster!  Just one thought for all those civil engineers, road planners etc out there.  When you make an exit on a 400 series highway, put an on ramp at the same place.  What the hell!  Driving kilometres around down the road to get back on.  We made it though.

A long drive to Sudbury and found the big nickel.  Never as exciting as you would hope.  Actually, it's like it goes out of it's way to disappoint.  But worth seeing once.  We ate lunch there and then make the long haul to Sault Ste. Marie.  Long day.  Pets were very good although Bella gave us some dirty looks for sticking him in the back seat with not enough room to stretch across the seats.  But they both were pretty patient.  It's going to be an early night as we're both exhausted from getting up early.  Here are some photos.  Charlie's getting pretty good at driving, but don't worry I only let him have the wheel for 10 minutes.

Okay, pictures aren't going up right now, but they'll be on my flickr and on facebook.  Early bed time tonight.
